How to Make a Wonderful Gift for Moms

There are lots of mothers who love homemade gifts made by their own kids. If you're looking for a gift to give your mother on Mother's Day or her birthday, there are many wonderful possibilities that you can make from scratch using items likely to be very easy to find at home or easily affordable at the local stores.

Method One of Three:
Scented sachet

  1. 1
Collect some flower petals, orange peel, mint leaves, and cloves. Then place these items into a mesh bag or bowl for two weeks. This will allow them to dry.
    • Make sure the flower or other item you're using for the scented sachet smells good.
  2. 2
Add any scented item you think your mom would like. For example, you could choose from such items as as cinnamon sticks, their favorite herb or spice, some essential oil, etc.
  3. 3
Put inside a sachet. Tie it with a bow, ribbon, or beads on a string. Done!

Method Two of Three:
Homemade card

  1. 1
Make your mom a card. Moms love home-made presents, so why not put all the effort into it that you can?! Don't forget to mention the fact that it's her birthday, Christmas, or her anniversary in the writing on the card.
  2. 2
Have an awesome time! If you don't enjoy making it, what's the point?! You might as well just go out and buy her one that just LOOKS home-made if you're not gonna have fun. (hint - don't buy a card or whatever you're making her!)
  3. 3
Give your mom your home-made gift and card, and watch her enjoy opening it.

Method Three of Three:
Sweet scented goody bag

  1. 1
    Find a small clear bag.
  2. 2
Buy two of your mum's favorite chocolate bars.
  3. 3
Put the chocolate into the bag.
  4. 4
Tie the bag with red ribbon.
  5. 5
Spray the outside of the bag with perfume.
  6. 6
Either buy or make a card. Write a love message inside the card.
  7. 7
Attach the card to the bag. Also attach an artificial flower to the ribbon around the bag.
  8. 8
Leave the gift on your mother's bed.

  • What can I do if it's Mother's Day and I have not bought a gift yet?
    Answered by wikiHow Contributor
    • A handwritten, heartfelt card or letter is the best way to go, especially when accompanied by a bouquet of flowers or a prepared meal (think breakfast in bed). The point is to thank her and show her you care.

  • What do I do if it's my mom's birthday, and I only made her a card?
    Answered by wikiHow Contributor
    • Our moms love us so much that you probably only need to give her the heartfelt card. If you want to do more, think of a service you could do for her. Doing the laundry, vacuuming, dusting, or doing other chores will be an amazing gift to your mother who will then get to take the day off. If you can't do that, then you can pamper her by massaging her, doing her hair, or giving her a manicure.
    Thanks! 10 1
